HV71 must continue to wait for their first point of the season.
On Thursday, they lost 3-1 against Frölunda.
– Our power play is totally inept, says coach Anton Blomqvist in TV4 Play.
HV71 kept pace with Frölunda into the third period but incurred a sending off and gave Frölunda the chance in the power play.
Then the Gothenburgers struck again when Mikael Ruohomaa found the blade of Erik Thorell, who headed in 2–1.
Frölunda’s second goal in PP for the evening.
“Can’t sit expelled”
HV picked big-play Hugo Alnefelt towards the end of the match to get a force, but it had the opposite effect when Frölunda scored 3-1 in an empty cage.
– We have opportunities to win the match for sure, but must be sharper. We can’t sit in that penalty box. We win the match five against five and drop two in box play, says HV coach Anton Blomqvist in TV4 Play’s broadcast.
– And then we are not sharp in our powerplay, which is totally inept today based on how we play. So somewhere they win the match unfortunately.
Seven players injured
Extra heavy for the already injured HV71 was that forward André Petersson missed tonight’s game due to injury.
The team currently has seven players on the absentee list.
