HV71 with a giant turn – decided with 83 seconds left

Joakim Nygård opened the scoring for Färjestad with a solo drive and two minutes later Oskar Steen extended the score to 2–0.

It didn’t get more fun than that for the guests, because then HV71 came back.

The turnaround began two minutes into the second period through Radan Lenc, and shortly afterwards Henrik Borgström scored to make it 2-2.

Invited to monster rescue

The Finn’s 17th point in his last ten games.

Joel Kellman had a great chance to decide when he had an open goal from just a few meters away – but then Hugo Alnefelt saved.

– It’s a terrible rescue – a monster rescue! exclaimed TV4 commentator Patrik Westberg.

Completed the turnaround

It would turn out to be the match-decider, because it kept HV in the match – and with one minute and 23 seconds remaining, Joona Luoto made it 3-2.

A result that stood up and secured three sticks for HV.

– We do two perfectly okay periods where Färjestads play good defense. Special teams step up and it’s incredibly strong to keep it together at the end, says HV coach Anton Blomqvist in TV4’s broadcast.
