In Hockeyväll, HV71 was criticized by SVT’s expert Håkan Loob because the club signed a contract with an out clause in the agreement which means that Chris Abbot can break his contract, which is unusual for leading people in a hockey association, according to him.
But HV71’s club director defends the clause.
– We had just made it through a qualifier against Oskarshamn. We then needed to make a fresh start and Chris Abbot was the best on the market. Besides, there weren’t that many other options. We then chose to sign the contract even though it looked like it did, says Richard Nylin club director in HV71.
In the clip, he tells how the club ensures that Chris Abbott will work for HV’s best in the future when he works for two clubs.
