The couple Marie Olsson Nylander and Bill Nylander participated in 2014 in “Husdrömmar” on SVT, and has since taken the Swedish people by storm. A few years later, they got their own spin-off in the form of “House Dreams Sicily”, where they renovated their pink dream castle “Palazzo Cirillo”.

“Husdrömmar Sicilien” had a full three seasons, where viewers fell in love with the Olsson Nylander family and their beautiful palace in Sicily. And now the program has premiered again – but in a new guise. In “Husdrömmar Sicilia – vintage trip” the viewers get to follow the stylist and interior designer Marie and her sister Susanne Westerdahl on a trip through Europe.
– It’s a trip together with my sister Susanne Westerdahl that starts in Höganäs and that we finish in Sicily. Some stops are a bit secret, so I don’t want to say too much, but we’re going around Europe and meeting people I’ve been in contact with in my working life, Marie tells News24.

Marie Olsson Nylander talks about new “House Dreams”
In the new show, the sisters visit antique markets and vintage stores in various destinations, and viewers also get to meet different people and experts on vintage and antiques.
– This is both an external and an internal journey. It’s not just about us going to a flea market and finding a pot, but it’s bigger than that, says Marie and continues:
– Maybe that’s the explanation for the whole “House Dreams Sicily” really, so it’s like both a retrospective and a forward look. It turned out to be a nice story that I think can be liked by many. You can recognize yourself, even though you may not like houses.
Traveling with siblings can be both wonderful, and sometimes stressful. But was there a fight between Marie and Susanne during the recording?
– When you are sisters, you know each other inside and out. I can notice right away that she’s cold, or she’s feeling a bit unwell. I want her to be well. It was more of a stress for me that I still drag her into this. So there were no quarrels, but rather I wanted her to have a good time, says Marie.

In previous seasons we have been able to follow Marie together with her husband Bill, but this time he shines with his absence. Die-hard “House Dreams Sicily” fans may be wondering where he’s gone, and Marie explains what led to the decision.
– He supports me in this. It’s not a reality show about our family life. I didn’t want it to be, and it could easily be if you continued.
– We are ourselves. We don’t play roles. We don’t sit down with a script when we’ve made “Husdrömmar Sicilia”. And sometimes you don’t want to share yourself completely either. But I might have a hard time playing anyone other than Marie, and he’s definitely Bill. Then maybe we should be ourselves (without cameras, ed. note).
With that said, Marie explains that you never know what will happen, and if we will see her and Bill together on the TV screen again.
– Maybe it will be that we make the last push and do the facade as it were. “House dreams Sicily – the last push”! We’ll simply see. We leave it open.
