Hurske set SE speed again and covered the World Championship runner-up – “Efficient and intact run”

Hurske set SE speed again and covered the World Championship

Reetta Hurske lowered the Finnish record of 60 meters to 7.81 in the international competition held in Torun, Poland.

Reetta Hurskeen the previous SE was the 7.86 run in Düsseldorf at the end of January.

In Torun, the top run brought Hurskee second place. The race was won by Poland Pia Skrzyszowska with a top time of 7.79.

– I remember that it was an intact and efficient run. In the beginning, somehow I couldn’t get the power and suction to run, even though it moved well. In the final, the run somehow started, when the next one was going so hard, Hurske repeated.

Hurske ran from the preliminaries to the final with a time of 7.89 and fought for the victory in the final with Skrzyszowska, the European champion in the 100 meters from last summer, tightly all the way, but finished second.

– The victory went to the reaction. Skrzyszowska got a great reaction, Hurske calculated.

“When you come to the Games, you feel calm”

Over the course of the season, Hurske has already run under 7.90 seven times. In the Torun final, last summer’s 100-meter hurdles World Cup silver medalist Jamaica was left behind Brittany Andersonwho was third in 7.83.

According to Hurskee, peak times and overcoming peaks like Anderson’s bring peace of mind to preparing for the Games.

– It feels good that I can come to the games to seek victory and really fight for it. That kind of thing is good for self-confidence, says Hurske.

– When I come to the games, I feel calm when I know that I can run under 7.90 with basic performance.

According to Hurske, there is still room for improvement in running, even though there are no longer any big issues.

– The first two steps should somehow be more effective and they go a bit in the wrong direction, Hurske stated.

Hurske competes next on Saturday in Paris.
