Hurricane and Akaa-Volley advanced to the men’s volleyball Finnish Cup final on Thursday. The final match will be played on February 1 in Turku.

In the semi-final played in Loimaa, the home team Hurrikaani won the set of the Kuortane coaching center team 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-21). Kuortane was the surprise of the semifinals, because it is a First Division team.

In the semi-final played in Kuopio, home team Savo Volley lost to Akaa-Volley 2-3 (25-18, 25-17, 26-28, 20-25, 12-15).

Head coach of Akaa-Volley Olli Kunnari gave honor to the opponent.

– They didn’t make any attacking mistakes in the first two sets. We emphasized with a long break that we just have to be patient and be able to grind. Then the game turned more normal to our game, Kunnari said in Savo Volley’s press release.

In the women’s semifinals, LP Viesti beat Puijo Wolley. The match played in Salo went to the home team 3-2 (25-20, 26-28, 22-25, 25-22, 15-10). LP Viesti will meet JymyVolley, who claimed their place in the final match on Monday, in the final to be played in Turku on February 2.

On Thursday, it was also confirmed that both Cup winners will change. Last year, the men’s Cup championship went to Savo Volley and the women’s Puijo Wolley.
