Hunters shot bears in Vilhelmina during the moose hunt

The police have drawn up a report of a serious hunting offense after an elk hunter in Vilhelmina municipality shot a bear on Thursday.

– According to the hunter, the bear must have attacked him, says Maria Linné, press spokesperson at the police.

It was around 10.30 that the report came in that a bear had been shot. The hunter states that he acted in self-defense.

The police went to the scene and drew up a report of serious hunting offences, according to routine. The bear has been seized. No one is said to have been injured in the incident.
