Hunter Build – The best build for melee hunters with specs

Hunters are at the top of Diablo 4’s tier list. MeinMMO introduces you to the currently best build for hunters, shows you the specs, which legendaries you need and how you play the build.

What build is this? Hunters are currently the strongest when you play them in melee – that means: with daggers or swords and not with bows. This build relies heavily on Twisting Blades, which you use to impale your opponents.

Currently the build is considered the go-to hunter build, ranks among the best builds in Diablo 4’s tier list, and also generally beats most other classes for speed and power. However, you need a little know-how about the class.

Per

  • works without uniques
  • high damage against everything
  • very agile
  • feels powerful
  • against

  • Difficulties with energy, especially in the early stages
  • requires good timing
  • complex path in the Paragon
  • This makes the build special: You have almost constant vulnerability on opponents from your attacks, one of the two most important mechanics for any class. This makes you strong both solo and as a supporter for others in the group.

Your mobility makes it easy to dodge almost any threat, preventing you from facetanking too much damage.

We already tried the build in the beta. Today he is perfected. You can see the gameplay here:

In Diablo 4, all 5 classes have special mechanics – we’ll explain them to you

    by Benedict Grothaus

    You need these Legendaries:

  • Accelerating Aspect
  • Vengeful Aspect
  • Smashing Aspect
  • From the Code of Power you get:

  • Shared sorrow
  • disobedience
  • cheating aspect
  • Spiritwalking Aspect
  • Blade dancing aspect
  • blade Master
  • Booby trapping aspect
  • aspect of the shadow
  • Keep in mind that all aspects of the Codex can also fall in the game and then usually have better values.

The Booby Trap Aspect should be forged on the neck as it has +50% Potency there. The Blade Dancing Aspect should be on your bow or crossbow. There he is stronger, even if you don’t use the weapon yourself.

The big advantage is that you don’t need any unique items. Above all, the famous and extremely rare harlequin mask, which every build needs, is not mandatory for you. The crown as well as some other items can make you stronger, but you can also do without it.

When should I salvage or sell items in Diablo 4?

As affixes to the items, you should pay attention to damage against vulnerable targets and damage from core skills and dexterity. At higher levels you also need a lot of armor, the strongest defensive stat. You socket the following gems:

  • emeralds in arms
  • topazes in armor
  • skull in the jewelry
  • You play with a total of 6 Paragon Boards and Glyphs:

  • Start board with proximity
  • Deadly ambush with diminish
  • Below the belt with control
  • Refined cunning with peat
  • No witnesses with yields
  • Exploit weakness with combat
  • Glyphs are mainly found in nightmare dungeons, here you can also level the glyphs. For more on that, see our Diablo 4 Endgame Content Overview. For tips on leveling as a rogue, see:

Hunter Screw Blade Build – Gameplay and Tips

How to play the build: The build’s core gameplay relies on you ramming your screwblades into an enemy, then putting as many enemies between them and you as possible:

  • uses screw blades on an opponent, preferably a tough one
  • poisons enemies with the poison trap to make enemies vulnerable and trigger more multipliers
  • Use Dash and Shadowstep to move as far as you can, putting enemies between the first enemy and you
  • the returning blades kill everything in the path and then around you if anything is left
  • against individual opponents and bosses you simply spam screw blades
  • use Dark Shroud as a defensive option when you’re in distress
  • You can use shadow clone on cooldown to improve your damage
  • Relative to builds like Blizzard Sorceress, you have very little enemy control effects, relying on mobility to avoid taking damage. Your self-healing is also low compared to that of the whirlwind barbarian. Armor is even more important for you than for other classes.

In general, try to avoid as much damage as possible and take advantage of the fact that you’re constantly jumping around anyway. You’re a skilled assassin, not a brutal brawler.
