Hunter Biden is expected to deny gun charges

According to the indictment filed last week, Hunter Biden, 53, lied on a form when he bought a gun at a gun store in Wilmington, Delaware, in October 2018. He is accused of falsely indicating that he was not a drug user or addict , and for illegally possessing the gun for eleven days.

On Tuesday, Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe David Lowell, asked the Delaware judge to hold Hunter’s first court appearance by video conference.

“Mr. Biden will also plead not guilty, and there is no reason why he cannot utter those two words via video conference,” Lowell wrote.

Hunter Biden lives in California.

The announcement that the president’s son is being prosecuted came on Thursday, shortly after Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that the US House of Representatives would begin impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden. The impeachment process is largely based on alleged irregularities surrounding son Hunter Biden.

Ahead of the 2020 presidential election, Hunter Biden was a constant target of then-President Donald Trump’s campaign. He was then singled out for, among other things, his alcohol and drug abuse.

In addition, Hunter Biden’s board assignment in a Ukrainian gas company was a hot political issue. Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the latter, which subsequently led to Trump being impeached.
