The Social Democratic opposition party in Hungary has requested an immediate extra parliamentary session to vote on Sweden’s NATO accession, the Hungarian news site states on the 24th.

In order for the session to end, however, it is required that the parliament’s preparatory committee approves the proposal. The Social Democrats in Hungary proposed the same thing back in October, but then their request was rejected.

Together with Turkey, Hungary is the only NATO country that has not yet approved Sweden’s application. On Tuesday, Sweden can take another step towards membership in NATO when Sweden’s application is expected to be taken up in the Turkish parliament.
