Hungary: African continent very present at Sziget music festival

Hungary African continent very present at Sziget music festival

In Budapest, Sziget, one of Europe’s largest music festivals, is in full swing. Set in a 78-hectare park on an island in the Danube between Buda and Pest, the event, which is celebrating its 30th edition, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors. Of course, the big names in pop and rock dominate the line-up – from Kylie to Martin Garrix to Sam Smith – but in Sziget, there is the “Global Village”, a sort of festival within the festival, a stage dedicated to ethnic and traditional music, and which this year gives pride of place to the African continent.
