Hundreds of pilgrims died mainly from the heat in Saudi

According to the Saudi Arabian authorities, about 1.8 million people participated in the pilgrimage this year.

More than 320 Egyptian pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia during the hajj pilgrimage, most of them from heat-related illnesses, two Arab diplomats told the AFP news agency.

In addition, at least 60 Jordanian pilgrims were reported dead.

After new announcements, the number of people who died during the hajj pilgrimage rises to nearly 580.

Hajj is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, according to which every Muslim should make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in his life if he is physically and financially able to do so.

According to Saudi Arabia’s statistical authorities, about 1.8 million people participated in the pilgrimage this year, of which 1.6 million came from abroad.
