Although train services have been stopped in the Mexican border area, immigrants continue to come to Ciudad Juarez, a city close to the US border. Hundreds of immigrants arrived in the region on freight trains to apply for humanitarian asylum with the US border patrol.
SECURITY FORCES INCREASED PRECAUTIONS
National Immigration Institute teams and police in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, have increased security measures along the banks of the Rio Grande River to prevent hundreds of immigrants trying to reach the USA via Mexico due to problems such as violence, unemployment and poverty in their country. (AA)
