What are housing costs?
Housing costs consist of three components. First of all, the waste tax. These are costs for processing and collecting household waste. The sewerage levy is used to maintain and expand a municipality’s sewer system. All residents of a municipality pay these two levies. The money that the municipality collects must actually be spent on sewerage and waste. The municipality may not spend this on anything else.
The property tax (ozb) is only for homeowners. The amount of the property tax depends on the WOZ value of a house. The property tax is determined on this basis. The municipality itself determines how the property tax revenues are spent.
