The police warn of the phenomenon of ‘boiler room fraud’. Victims are approached by telephone, and also by e-mail, by international (fake) investment companies with tempting investment returns. The method is so convincing and sophisticated that many people take the bait. Only in Central Netherlands are hundreds of victims. The police are currently investigating a number of recent reports. The victims say they boarded the ship for more than a million euros.
