Hundreds flock to Point Edward’s Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village held in Point Edward

Horse and buggy rides, a gingerbread decorating contest and other Christmas-themed activities greeted hundreds of people in Point Edward Dec. 2.

The annual Christmas in the Village event that helps draw people to downtown shops and features various free activities this year also included face painting, Christmas caroling, crafts and snacks, cookies and hot chocolate.

Volunteers were dressed in Christmas attire, including some as elves and another as Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch.

The annual attraction was created in 2010 after a committee of businesses approached the village about a holiday season promotion event.

It returned in 2022 after a pandemic-related hiatus.
