A forest fire has burned through more than 500 hectares in eastern Spain, forcing around 180 people to flee, according to local officials.
The fire started on Sunday near Tárbena in the Valencia region, when the temperature was 30 degrees, which is unusually high for the time of year.
Heat, wind and low humidity fueled the fire, which is still burning, according to the region’s emergency services.
Eight air units, firefighters and military rescue workers are working to try to extinguish the fire.
