Hulko advanced to the semi-finals in the EC pool Sports in a nutshell

The swimming crisis has not been canceled and the

Ida Hulkko is the only Finn to continue from the morning heats in the European Swimming Championships.

Ida Hulkko swam 13th in the preliminaries of the women’s 100-meter breaststroke and took the Finns’ first place in the long course EC competitions in Belgrade. Hulkko was third in his own heat with a time of 1:09.07.

Remember the Finns Veera Kivirinta narrowly missed out on the further places in 21st place. Kivirinta swam a time of 1:09.88, while the Bulgarian Teya Nikolova grabbed the last semi-final spot with a result of 1:09.22. Anniina Murto (1.11,37) was 28th in the time comparison of the heats and Kia Metsäkonkola (1.11,94) 29:s.

Hulkko will swim in the semi-finals of the 100m breaststroke later in the evening. The broadcast of the evening competitions starts at Areena at 19:25.

Hulko and Kivirinna’s parade distance 50-meter breaststroke is on the program of the European Championships this weekend.

The other Finnish swimmers of the morning missed out on places. In the women’s 50m butterfly Aliisa Soini was 20th in the heats with a time of 27.23 and Mia Pentti 24th with a record of 27.66.

Men’s 100m freestyle heats Tomas Koski was 43rd as the best Finn with a time of exactly 50 seconds. Ronny Brännkärr ranked 59th, Ari-Pekka Liukkonen 75th and Kalle Mäkinen 85th.
