Hulk Power Hierarchy Rewritten

Marvel’s What If…? Season 3 introduced two new forms of Hulk, Apex and Mega Hulk. These forms completely changed the character’s balance of power.

Apex Hulk is so powerful that he manages to destroy the original Avengers team. While even the Hulkbuster mecha-suits designed by Tony Stark cannot withstand this power, it is clear that there is very little that can stand against the Apex Hulk.

To stop the destruction wrought by Apex Hulk, Bruce Banner is once again exposed to Gamma radiation and takes the form of Mega Hulk. This form is the most powerful version of the Hulk we’ve ever seen. Resembling Godzilla, this gigantic Hulk has spines on his back, a tail and an incredible Gamma breath. Mega Hulk rises to the top of the power hierarchy by destroying Apex Hulk and his army.

But Mega Hulk isn’t just a threat; The Avengers team, led by Sam Wilson, manages to establish a bond of friendship with the Hulk despite his power, saving the world from destruction. This is What If…? It once again emphasizes the importance of friendship and understanding, which is one of the main themes of the series.

The introduction of Apex and Mega Hulk adds a new dimension to the Hulk character. These two forms are only available in What If…? It could have major impacts not only on the story universe of the series, but also on Marvel’s overall narrative world. These new versions of the Hulk further raise expectations for what role the character will play in future MCU projects.
