The defender of the Finnish national football team, Robert Ivanov, is sad and angry about the miserable situation of his beloved club FC Honga in Espoo.

Last week, it was confirmed that FC Honga’s representative team will not continue playing matches at Finland’s highest league level, when the club did not apply for a Veikkausliiga league license due to unpaid salaries.
Huahkajie’s 29-year-old credit scorer Robert Ivanov is a Kerava Pallo -75 junior player who played in FC Honga in the 2016–20 seasons before moving abroad.
“Roba” has followed the saga of Espola’s football flagship with extreme sadness.
– Sad. Absurd. This can’t happen, this doesn’t fit in my cabbage. I hope this will be completely cleared up and someone will be held accountable for this. However, there are players, coaching and maintenance, and fans who belong to the best in Finland.
Ivanov shakes his head and reminds that the same thing happened to the club from Espoo eight years ago – even if the background people were different back then.
Pallohonka Oy, the background company of Veikkausliiga FC Honga in 2015, was declared bankrupt on March 20, almost eight years ago.
– I spent so many wonderful years there. I had a plan all along that I would play abroad as long as I could and then come back to Honka. Of course, it is still possible depending on whether there will be an increase or something else. It’s really sad.
The future of FC Honga, which played in the Veikkausliiga last season, on domestic football fields will be decided in the near future.
Discussions about whether the Espoo team can continue at a lower league level are currently taking place, says the development and communications director of Esport companies Kurt Moller.
Möller stated on Monday to Länsiväylä, that the situation is truly open. It is possible that Esport Honka Oy, which acts as the background company of the representative team, will go bankrupt.
The Finnish Football Association’s league license committee met today, Tuesday, for an organizational meeting, but the decisions on next season’s league licenses will not come until later. Licensing decisions for the men’s soccer league must be made by December 22 at the latest.
