Huuhkajie’s head coach Markku Kanerva was naturally very satisfied with the match in an interview with Sami Laine on Yelle.
Where did you succeed today?
– In scoring and defending. My head remained clear. Four goals, three very good ones, one from the penalty spot, we got the results right today. Above all, the second episode was good. The game was well balanced and under control.
– Then we got information about various things. We tried Miro Tenho as topper in the opening, Matti Peltola as left tackle, Fredrik Jensen in attack.
Kanerva admitted that three consecutive defeats and the loss of a place in the European Championships hurt. Of course, there is still a chance through the further qualification in March, and with that in mind, this handsome victory was a good start.
– Now the face wash part one completed. It continues on Tuesday (against San Marino). This gang showed that it has been difficult, but the mental edge is tough. The dudes showed what they’re made of. It’s not an easy place. There has been so much trouble here. Of course, I would have liked such a great game to have come earlier, against Slovenia or Kazakhstan.
At this point, a funny mistake happened to Kanerva, because the San Marino match will be played on Monday.
