This year, Hugh Jackman will return to his star role in the X-Men after the great Logan departure. He plunges into the multiverse of Deadpool & Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ cheeky anti-hero.
Now there is also new news about an upcoming film project from Jackman. Together with a big series star he will play the leading role in a extremely dark sounding Robin Hood remake take over.
Hugh Jackman stars in adventure film about broken Robin Hood
As reported by Deadline, among others, Jackman and Killing Eve lead actress Jodie Comer have been cast in a new film titled The Death Of Robin Hood occupied. The project comes from Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One director Michael Sarnoski.
The plot is said to revolve around an older Robin Hood who is plagued by feelings of guilt surrounding the many crimes he has committed, which also includes murders. Over the course of the film he meets a woman who offers him a form of redemption.
At the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, the project will be offered to the film market in order to secure financing and, ideally, distribution. After Jackman already one gave the older, scarred Wolverine the perfect send-offthe Robin Hood remake sounds like similarly dark material.

Robin and Marian
Variety writes that the idea of the planned Robin Hood remake is reminiscent of 1976’s Robin and Marian. In it, Sean Connery played a middle-aged version of the adventure icon. It will certainly be a long time before the new Robin Hood film with Jackman and Comer is shot and released. You shouldn’t expect a launch before 2026 if everything goes well.
