Huge tributes to Tre Kronor’s super talent – the words that really give hope before the hockey World Cup: “Osar class”

Tre Kronor easily won against Switzerland with 3-0.
After the final whistle, an 18-year-old super talent is now celebrated in a big way.
– Leo Carlsson is definitely a WC player for me, says SVT expert Mikael Renberg.

Sweden has started the upload for the upcoming hockey World Cup and on Thursday evening the Czech Hockey Games mini-tournament started in Gothenburg. Then Tre Kronor got off to a flying start by easily defeating Switzerland with a clear 3-0.

Paying tribute to Carlsson

One of the players who impressed the most of all was the young giant Leo Carlson who are currently fighting for a WC place. The 18-year-old has been a big exclamation point for Örebro Hockey in the SHL this past season and is predicted to have a brilliant future on the ice.

In the summer, he is expected to go as the first European player in the NHL draft and that says a lot about his potential. Now he is also highly praised by the SVT expert Mikael Renberg after making double assists to the chain colleague Lucas Raymond’s both goals.
– I think he has a great chance to make it to the WC. I think Sweden needs the type of forwards who can do the unexpected. If you look at the other forwards, there aren’t that many who can do that, says Renberg in the SVT broadcast.
– Give him a few years and he might be the best player in this lineup. Incredibly talented.

“Similar to Sundin”

Leo Carlsson, who recently made his debut in Tre Kronor, is obviously happy about the words from Renberg.
– It’s great to hear that, of course. The best game so far for me in the national team shirt. The victory with a win too. Great for self-confidence, he tells SVT.

Even the columnist David Hellsing wanted to highlight Leo Carlsson as the great joy after the Swedish victory and who really gives hope for the hockey WC.
“Two days in Gothenburg have made me suddenly start looking forward to the championship. Because I think we will get to see a certain super talent, everyday in Örebro Hockey, get to wear the Swedish national team shirt. Confederations captain Sam Hallam gave him as much confidence as possible against Switzerland by putting him at center in the first chain, with Fabian Zetterlund and Lucas Raymond on each wing. Zetterlund with 81 NHL games on the merit list, Raymond 156. Leo seemed to have played about the same number,” he writes in his column on the site Hockeypuls.
“Leo looked much like he did for large parts of the season in Örebro. Fixed on an additional level. As soon as he had the puck, something happened. So natural, so good at everything he did. It was like an extra boost. In the playoffs, it was Leo who in many ways drove Örebro’s offensive when others disappeared. Here he continued on the beaten track, amidst more established stars such as the aforementioned Raymond, Jacob Silfverberg and Alexander Nylander”.

The young roosters Carlsson and Raymond really found each other and 18-year-old Leo’s effort made people on the spot start thinking about a young Mats Sundin.
“We got to see a characteristic move, some quick cuts into the zone and an equally quick pass to Raymond and 2-0. It oozed class.
– Looks like Mats Sundin. He will be included in the WC, GP’s long-time hockey reporter Johan Rylander shouted to me,” Hellsing writes in his column.
