Six years have passed since Mika Zibanejad was transferred to the New York Rangers.

Six years in Rangers
In the last four seasons, he has become one of the best players in the world, and during the 2019-2020 season, many thought that he would be the first Swede since Håkan Loob to reach 50 goals in the world’s best hockey league, but due to corona closed the basic series prematurely.
During the winter, Zibanejad had his best season in his career with 81 points in 81 games played – despite having a really sluggish start to the year. During the playoffs, he also accounted for a ruggedly impressive 24 points in 20 matches, and today no one underestimates the Swede. But that was exactly what the Ottawa Senators did six years ago.
Called the very best
Today it is exactly six years ago that the Ottawa Senators chose to replace the Swede with Derrick Brassard, and a choice in the seventh round in the upcoming draft. Since then, Zibanejad has become an established world star in the NHL, while Bressard has represented seven (!) Different clubs, and barely scored half a point per game.
