The Halo film adaptation from 2022 tells a different story. The bombastic sci-fi action blockbuster failed several times before it finally went into production. Ten episodes were to be produced for the US broadcaster Showtime. First, director Rupert Wyatt (Planet of the Apes: Prevolution) was approached with the Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment produced project. Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) later took over the direction of the series premiere.

Behind the scenes, Halo underwent its next change: The series moved from Showtime to the streaming service Paramount+, where it premiered in March 2022, four years after it was ordered. Between 90 and 200 million US dollars is said to have devoured the production (via Variety and The Guardian ).
