“Braces won’t help anymore”: Horst Lichter jokes about the orc’s poor dental hygiene

Next to the Uruk-Hai, Horst Lichter looks tiny.
Film nerds will immediately recognize which franchise the character comes from: JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the ringswhich was made into an Oscar-winning film by Peter Jackson.
Horst Lichter starts directly with a joke about the size of the statue: “Well, that would be something for the night console.” Then he talks about the creature’s unattractive teeth: “Braces won’t help anymore.“
“There are just crazy collectors”: How valuable is the statue really?
The huge orc statue was made by a well-known manufacturer and was produced for promotional purposes. Sven Deutschmanek raves about the detailed design, and the expertise is correspondingly high: “Lord of the Rings, still a huge hype and there are crazy collectors.”
Deutschmanek estimates the rare collector’s item to be worth 1,500 to 2,000 euros. In the end, it goes for a proud 1,850 euros to cult dealer Waldi. Everyone involved seems visibly satisfied.
