Google is down. Some Google services appear to no longer be working this Friday, May 31. Several Internet users are already complaining about the problem on social networks.
It has now been several hours since certain Google services appear to be out of service. The giant outage which seems to affect thousands of users would have been triggered earlier in the morning of May 31 if we are to believe the first complaints on social networks. On the website X (formally Twitter), several Internet users reported that it was now impossible for them to access services like Google News or Google Discover.
Complaints which do not seem unfounded if we are to believe the site DownDetector.fr which has been recording peaks in reports for several hours now. The latter allows users to report possible bugs and computer failures relating to sites or services.
The main services affected therefore seem to be the two parts of the Mountainview firm dedicated to articles, namely Google News and Google Discover. However, several Internet users complain about the impossibility of carrying out online searches via the eponymous search engine. Other users are also reporting several bugs in the Google Maps application. The concerns therefore seem to directly affect the company’s servers and not user devices.
This is not the first time that Google services have suffered such a problem. Already at the beginning of May 2024, several crashes and server problems had been reported by multiple users. However, the company must already be aware of the various failures and in the process of correcting the problem. We will be sure to update this article with further information.
