Attention zombie fans: Tencent is releasing a new survival game on Steam with Undawn – and it will have MMORPG elements and be Free2Play.
The hype surrounding Dead Island 2 shows that games where we kill the undead are still quite popular. Undawn has a lot to offer. The Chinese mega-corporation Tencent promises a mix of open world, crafting, survival, housing and social interactions. Undawn is being developed by Lightspeed Studios.
Huge map should be free of loading times
What can you do in Undawn? In the free survival title Undawn, you will explore a post-apocalyptic open world and its various locations, including the highway, mansions, waterfalls, decayed inner cities, junkyards and the military base – alone or with other survivors.
The map will have a size of 10 × 10 km and will be free of loading times.
After a first allusion, which lasted 90 minutes, French journalists said: The building options would make “The Sims” blush (via Jeux vidéo), and there will also be options to craft weapons and equipment.

More information can be found on Steam and the game’s website.
There will be various influences in Undawn that are necessary to survive. Leveling up your skills is an important aspect of surviving in the harsh new reality. But cooking will apparently also play a role, as will going to the toilet, hygiene and the character’s mental health, as the screenshot shows:
When and where can I play Undawn? Undawn will be released on June 15th for PC and mobile and will be Free2Play. You can pre-register via the website to receive some in-game rewards. Depending on how many people register, the more loot will be unlocked in total.
The mega-corporation already announced last year that it wants to reinvent the genre with Undawn. We are curious. You too?
