The forest fire that started yesterday in China’s Sichuan province cannot be extinguished. Authorities stated that the fire, which started in the forest area of Yajiang town of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous City yesterday, spread due to strong winds, and that approximately 3,400 people were evacuated from 11 towns.
Stating that efforts to control the fire, which caused the closure of some roads, are continuing, officials shared the information that no loss of life has occurred so far.
While 8 helicopters and 930 firefighters were dispatched to the region, it was announced that 775 soldiers from the neighboring Yunnan province were sent to the region to support the work.
