Avatr is backed by Huawei, and now the Chinese giant has agreed to sell the Avatr 11 through its network of flagship stores in China. Starting this year, the car will be on display in stores in Beijing and Shenzhen.
Avatr, formerly known as Changan NIO, was rebranded after Nio’s investment was cut to less than 1% in favor of Huawei and CATL. The company’s first car, the Avatr 11, went on sale recently and is available in three versions – all with AWD and good performance.
Huawei provided the DriveONE dual-motor AWD system for the Avatr 11, it comes with the front engine 195kW and the rear engine 230kW – combined torque is 650Nm, which allows the car to complete from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds.
CATL was responsible for providing the FRP battery pack, which came in two sizes, 90kWh and 116kWh. CLTS, smaller battery 555 km range and thanks to the larger package Avatr 11 680 km He claims to be able to go. These numbers will be impossible to reach in real life, but the 116kWh battery will definitely go a long way.
The company has 60 stores that it directly operates, in addition to its 70 regional distributors and 150 partner stores across China. It’s an impressive network, but having the vehicles available in Huawei’s flagship stores will definitely help sales.
Initial deliveries of the Avatr 11 are expected to begin in December, but only two input rigs will be available initially. The most expensive version of this electric SUV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2023. It’s a very different strategy from what we’ve seen from European or US EV manufacturers focusing primarily on high-end models.
