HRW At least 30 killed in Kenya unrest News

In Kenya, at least 30 people have died this week in anti-government protests, according to the human rights organization Human Rights Watch.

According to the organization, the country’s security forces fired directly at the demonstrators on Tuesday, in violation of international law.

Protests against the planned tax increases began in the country last week. President of Kenya William Ruto announced on Wednesday that it was withdrawing a controversial bill that included tax increases.
