Leverkusen beat Dortmund 3-2 in the top match when the Bundesliga returned from the winter break on Friday.
Lukas Hradecky skipper Leverkusen beat Borussia Dortmund 3–2 (3–1) away from home in the German Bundesliga.
Patrik Schick scored two goals and Nathan Tella one, while Leverkusen rose to 35 points and only one point away from league leader Bayern Munich.
Dortmund, who are sixth in the league, only suffered their first home defeat of the season in the Bundesliga. The team that appeared in the Champions League final last season has won only one of its last five league games.
Goal attempts were scored for Dortmund 12–7, but the top spots went to Leverkusen 3–2.
The virus disease dropped Dortmund’s lineup from the central defense Emre Can and by Nico Schlotterbeck and Fullback by Ramy Bensebain just a few hours before the start of the match.
Hradecky stopped three goal attempts that came towards the goal. Jamie Gittens passed the Huuhkaja keeper in the 12th minute from the back post when narrowing the score to 1–2 and Serhou Guirassy scored a penalty kick to make it 2–3 in the 79th minute.
Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso left the opening star player By Florian Wirtz to the bench due to “internal problems” in the team. However, he got on the field after about an hour of the game.
Bayern travels to Borussia Mönchengladbach, who is eighth in the series, in their own match of the round on Saturday.
