The first instinct to have when you go on vacation is to have your accommodation monitored by the police or the gendarmerie. Their services offer “Operation Tranquillity Holidays” during school holiday periods. This service is free. You just need to fill out a application form available on the site of the gendarmerie, and to deposit it in the police station of your city by indicating your dates of leave. The police will come and watch patrols in front of your home day and night during this period to check that everything is fine and thus ensure the protection of your home. It won’t prevent burglaries, but it is a good prevention system.
