Microsoft is determined to integrate AI into every corner of Windows by imposing its Copilot assistant on all users. If this isn’t your cup of tea, luckily there are solutions to get rid of it.
Microsoft’s new workhorse is definitely artificial intelligence, everywhere, all the time and for everyone. The company no longer swears by the integration of its AI-powered super assistant, Copilot, in our computers, even to the point of dedicating a specific keyboard key to it. This heightened communication around its new tool and its imposition on forceps are not necessarily to everyone’s taste, even if the new functions it brings are promising.
For some, the major problem with generative and interactive algorithms such as Copilot or ChatGPT concerns privacy. These tools constantly siphon requests from their users in order to feed their developers’ databases. And if in the case of online conversational robots like ChatGPT, it is enough to stop the exchanges to no longer feed the beast, Copilot is integrated directly into the operating system. When we know Microsoft’s voracity in terms of personal data and Windows’ propensity to track the slightest actions of its users, there is indeed reason to be worried about the arrival of an omniscient and omnipotent at the heart of his machine. We can therefore be sincerely enthusiastic and curious about the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence tools, and, at the same time, not want an indiscreet program running constantly on our computer.
BloatynosyAI: a free tool to remove Copilot
Unfortunately, like many in-house tools built directly into Windows by Microsoft, there is a good chance that Copilot will become an immovable program once it is rolled out globally – as a reminder, Copilot is not officially available in Windows in Europe and therefore in France, even though Microsoft praises it on its French website… So how can we get rid of this program that is a little too intrusive and cumbersome in the eyes of some? The solution lies, as often, in the use of third-party software dedicated to the forced removal of software integrated into the operating system, which is called bloatware. There are many on the market, like Bulk Crap Uninstaller which we have already told you about, and the one that interests us today, spotted by our colleagues at Phonandroidresponds to the sweet name of BloatynosyAI.
BloatynosyAI is a new version of the excellent Bloatynosy that we have already presented. It is a free and open-source customization and configuration software for Windows 10 and 11, focused around three themes: privacy settings, uninstalling unwanted apps, and installing useful apps. Its main advantage is to allow the user to finely and precisely configure Windows, without having to perform multiple actions in different menus and submenus scattered across the four corners of the system. The application brings together all Windows privacy settings in a single window, which can be modified on the fly via a simple switch, displays all programs present on the computer with the possibility of uninstalling them in bulk automatically, and also offers a list of recommended and popular applications that can be installed in one go.

But above all, BloatynosyAI offers a well-thought-out search function, which allows even less experienced users to find and carry out the actions that match their needs. Simply enter a few keywords in the search bar at the top of the application to see relevant suggestions for modifications to make to Windows. For example, writing the word “taskbar” brings up the propositions “Change Taskbar alignment to the left” or “Remove the Widgets Button on the Taskbar”. Likewise, entering the keyword “AI” brings up interesting suggestions such as “Remove AI in Taskbar (Copilot Button)” and “Remove AI icon in Microsoft Edge”. To make the desired modification, simply click on the corresponding text suggestion. A text box then appears at the bottom of the application, indicating that the change has been applied.
And the application’s capabilities are not limited to erasing visible traces of Copilot in Windows. As its developer indicates in the note accompanying the release of the latest version of BloatynosyAI, the program is capable of removing all traces of Microsoft’s AI assistant from the system: “This version will receive the additional identifier “AI” from me and will henceforth be called BloatynosyAI to emphasize the new character of Windows. In addition to the ability to remove AI features in Windows, this also highlights the intelligent approach of the application itself.“. For the moment, if you have not installed Copilot on your computer yourself, by indirect means (the application is not officially available in France), you will not find any package software to uninstall on your machine, but the day AI arrives on your device, you will be well able to get rid of it!
