How to finally keep wasps away this summer? The unstoppable recipe

How to finally keep wasps away this summer The unstoppable

Wasps are particularly invasive this summer and can spoil a meal eaten outside. To keep them away, it is better to have the right method. Here is the advice of a specialist!

This summer, it’s a real invasion of wasps which swept over France. Not a single terrace, a single restaurant escapes it, but the presence of wasps can above all be particularly annoying in your home, inside and outside when enjoying barbecues, evenings in the garden or lazing around on vacation. However, there are a few fairly simple tricks to effectively get rid of the invader:

  • The insecticide is possible, products are available on the market but the method is both impractical around the table, radical and toxic.
  • The easiest way is probably to get a wasp killer that you can find on the market or even better to make a wasp trap home. We give you the instructions for use below or in pictures in our dedicated file

The homemade and 100% effective recipe for the wasp trap, given by an expert!

Founder of the Badbugs.fr site and pest expert, Nicolas Roux de Bézieux agreed to share with us his unstoppable wasp trap recipe:

  1. First, the container: the easiest way is to use a plastic bottle. Start by cutting off the top of the bottle, which is about a third of a 1.5 liter bottle. The bottom of the bottle will be used to place a bait in addition to a liquid that will trap the wasp by drowning. Water or beer are fine. Then turn the upper part over and place it on the lower part to create a funnel and therefore your trap.
  2. What bait to use? Many say a drink syrup, or fruit. Problem, other insects such as precious bees for the ecosystem can also be attracted. Tip given by Nicolas Roux de Bézieux, a piece of meat, shrimp shells or sardine heads can do the trick. Even better, reuse the remains of your barbecue, a little meat fat diluted in water will be a perfect bait.
  3. Where to place your trap? As far as possible from the table and the place where you like to hang out! Nicolas Roux de Béziers advises placing several around your dining area or near the windows of rooms with few people. “These solutions only allow you not to be inconvenienced by wasps, especially during your meals outside”, in no case will they eradicate a Wasps nest. In this case, it is better to call a specialist!
