Whatsapp may have heavy in storage of your phone, the application offers tools to make some space.
If you have a smartphone, there is a good chance that WhatsApp will be installed there. Meta’s instant messaging is among the most used applications in the world, especially in France. According to studies on the AWITEC site, WhatsApp is used by more than 32 million people in the country, which represents a little more than half of the population.
However, WhatsApp is no exception to criticism. The application has notably chic to automatically download photos and videos as well as many data likely to take a lot of storage space on our phone. This same storage is often a wound for many smartphones owners who only have 64 or 128 GB of maximum space. Fortunately, WhatsApp has a basket that you can (and should) empty from time to time to make room.
Spring cleaning is essential! Fortunately, there are several ways to manage the space that WhatsApp occupies on your phone. Among these, it is notably possible to reduce the quality of the media that you store on your device. But beware: if many are numerous, they will still occupy a certain place, whether in excellent quality or not.
To remedy this, it is therefore necessary to empty your basket WhatsApp. To do this, the method is simple: open your application then click on the three small points at the top right of your screen to select the “Settings” option. On iPhone, the “settings” tab is more accessible. Once you arrive on your application settings screen, select the “Storage and data” option. In particular, you will find some options there so as not to automatically store the media or manage their quality.
In order to find WhatsApp’s basket, click on the “Manage storage” option. You will then find the place that WhatsApp (and the recorded media) takes on your device. In our case, the space in question is quite minimal (200 MB). But if you regularly download files within the application, you could very easily end up with several gigas of occupied spaces. Then click on “review and delete the items” to find all the media over 5 MB currently stored on your device.
It is then possible to select one or more media in question. We recommend that you select the heaviest in GO or MO. Make sure you don’t hold it either since it will be deleted from your device! Once the media was selected, click on the trash icon to delete them.
If you have, inadvertently, deleted a media you held, do not panic: you can always go back to the discussion where it was to re -order it by clicking on it.
