HOW TO DONATE BLOOD?
You can donate blood by going to the nearest blood donation center, blood collection unit.
When you apply to blood donation centers for blood donation, you will be given a 4-page form. To inform you about the content of this form;

In the inquiry form you will fill out, there are questions about your private life as well as your personal information. The inclusion of specific questions in the questionnaire and your sincere answers to these questions constitute the first step of “Safe Blood Supply”. All the information you share is kept confidential both ethically and legally. You can consult our doctors or phlebotomists (nurses) about any questions and information you are curious about.
The blood donation process is a legal process. For this reason, your identity and contact information are recorded in the system used by the Turkish Red Crescent. It is required by law to present a legally valid ID (driver’s license, identity card, etc.) with a picture, containing your TR ID number.
Along with the registration process, blood count, blood pressure, pulse, fever and body weight are measured by our phlebotmists.
The results of the limited physical examination made after the registration process are processed on the form you fill out and on the computer system. Our doctors evaluate the form you fill out and the results of the physical examination. If your donation as a donor candidate will not cause any harm to you first and then to the needy, you will be directed to the blood donation process.

All materials used are disposable and sterile.
Blood collection takes place in the elbow pit, which is the most suitable area.
The blood collection process takes about 4-8 minutes.
Only 1 unit of blood is donated for each blood donation. 1 unit of blood is approximately 450 ml ±10%.
When the process is over, you must rest in the bed for the specified time and in the catering area for the specified time. While you are resting in the blood collection bed, it is important to apply pressure to your arm as shown by the phlebotomists to prevent extravascular bleeding.

WHO CAN DONATE BLOOD?
Every healthy individual over 50 kilograms between the ages of 18-65 can be a blood donor candidate. (You must be at the age of 19, not over 65.)
Upper age limit for those who will donate blood for the first time: Must not have reached the age of 61. For regular blood donors, they can donate blood once a year, provided that the upper age limit is 65, and until they reach the age of 70, with the approval of the blood donation center doctor.
