The first question to ask will therefore concern the number of kilometers traveled per day on average. It is therefore necessary to ask how often the car battery can be recharged. Autonomy is expressed in “WLTP cycle”, an established standard via a test protocol followed by manufacturers since September 2018. This makes it possible to compare the autonomy of electric vehicles of the market, knowing that the style of driving, the external conditions or even the use of the air conditioner or heating can naturally influence it.

What other criteria can motivate the choice of an electric car?

The maximum electrical charging power is a second criterion to take into account. The higher it is, the faster the vehicle will charge. This does not mean, however, that electric car range will be bigger! A vehicle whose range is low and the charging power high maximum will perhaps be more advantageous than an electric car with a long range, but a lower charging power.

For example, driving 100 km in electric will cost between around €1.5 to €4, compared to €6 to €9 for a thermal vehicle. Not to mention that the installation of many terminals is no longer rare and they are made available free of charge, which is obviously not the case with petrol pumps!
