Crime is on the rise in France in 2022, reveals the report published by the Ministry of the Interior on January 31. Among the most significant increases: domestic violence (+17%) and sexual violence (+11%).
(Rebroadcast from 8/02/2023)
This increase is explained, according to the ministry, by the liberation of speech in the wake of the #MeToo movement, but also by a better reception of victims by the police. Police forces who, as part of their initial training, follow a compulsory module on intra-family violence.
In Lyon, 30 student police officers were visited by three members of the National Union of Families of Femicide.
