How powerful are the Eevee evolutions? All 9 forms in the power ranking

Eevee is one of the most versatile Pokémon of all, after all, it comes in a variety of forms that differ significantly from one another. We rank them based on the Pokédex.

What kind of list is this? Eevee has been one of the most popular pocket monsters ever since the first Pokémon generation. The cute basic form and its three evolutions, Aquana, Flamara and Blitza, found their way straight into the hearts of Pokémon fans and remain there to this day.

Over the years, the Eevee family grew larger and new forms were added. Today we have 8 developments that Eevee can accept.

If you look at the values of the monsters, you can quickly create a ranking of the Eevee developments in Pokémon GO or in the main games in terms of strength. In this list, however, we look at Eevee and its developments on a different basis: the Pokédex entries across all games (these can be viewed at pokewiki.de).

Because if you lived in the Pokémon world, you would probably ask yourself: What does the Pokédex say about the different forms? Which Eevee versions are safe, which ones should you be wary of, and which ones perhaps have the most devastating abilities?

We answer that in the Pokédex Power Ranking for Eevee. And we start with…

9th place: Eevee

Eevee in Pokémon GO

Eevee is the original, the cornerstone, the mother of all Eevee developments and is therefore beyond any doubt. It is a comparatively rare “Normal” type Pokémon and actually sounds like a largely relaxed creature. In pretty much all variants, the Pokédex points out that its “unstable genetic material” ensures that it can adapt perfectly to its environment through mutations – in the form of developments.

But since the games “Sword and Shield” there has been a point that also makes the normal Eevee dangerous and it is called “Gigantamax”. Using Gigantamax energy, Eevee can tower to giant size while retaining its playful nature. However, this is exactly what can become a problem:

“It is even more loyal than usual and wants to play with everyone. But due to its enormous size, it crushes its playmates,” says the Pokédex entry from Pokémon Shield. Meanwhile, in Pokémon Sword, it’s noted that “its fur becomes even fluffier” and it “catches its opponents by wrapping them in the fuzz around its neck.”

As cute as Eevee is, it is not without danger in its giant form, even if it just wants to cuddle.

8th place: Folipurba

Folipurba in Pokémon GO

The plant evolution of Eevee is a Pokémon that you like to have around: according to the Pokédex, it photosynthesizes and is therefore constantly surrounded by pure air. Its pleasant smell is also highlighted in some entries.

When it comes to fighting, however, it is rather less practiced. In “Pokémon Black and White” it says: “With its plant-like cell structure, it carries out photosynthesis. It never actually fights.”

The exception is, according to Pokémon Ultra Sun: “Folipurba doesn’t like to fight, but if its comrades are in danger, it uses its leaf-like tail like a blade.” And according to the entry in “Pokémon Shield,” it can use it to split large trees in two, for example, and is very proud of it.

You shouldn’t tease it, but overall Folipurba is more of a Pokémon that isn’t at home in battle. Therefore, it ends up lower in the power ranking.

7th place: Aquana

Aquana and his Shiny form in Pokémon GO

Aquana’s element is water and the Pokédex also shows this: It usually lives near bodies of water and is perfectly adapted to this environment. In the yellow edition, the Pokédex says it is invisible in water. Later games even talk about its cellular structure being so similar to water molecules that it fuses with them. The Pokédex in Ruby and Sapphire also reveals that it can manipulate water at will.

This is of course a powerful ability, but it is also presented as a defensive Pokémon. In “Pokémon Moon,” for example, it says that it “secretly, quietly and quietly waits for fish Pokémon that it catches as prey,” while “Ultra Sun” explains: “If it senses an enemy attack, it disappears into the water and takes off invisible.”

Aquana is dangerous with its water attacks, but overall it seems to prefer stealth and stealth rather than going into open combat. That’s why it ends up a little lower in the power ranking here.

By the way: In Pokémon GO, Aquana once caused a lot of excitement in New York’s Central Park.

6th place: Nachtara

Nachtara and its Shiny form in Pokémon GO

Nachtara is a fan favorite and is often at the top of many Eevee lists based on his performance in the games. However, the Pokédex paints a picture that does not represent the greatest fighter, but rather a creature that acts secretly.

It is a nocturnal Pokémon whose rings on its body light up at nightfall to scare others nearby. It lurks in the shadows for prey and, according to Ultrasonne, has the advantage of being able to see clearly due to its large pupils, while its prey wanders through the forest at night without a clear view. “Pokémon Moon” explains: “His black fur blends into the night. It patiently lies in wait for its prey and bites its throat at the first opportunity.”

According to “Pokémon HeartGold,” when threatened, it secretes a type of poisonous sweat to protect itself. According to “Pokémon Sun,” it targets its opponent’s eyes.

Overall, while this is a very effective behavior, it is typically one that is more likely to be used by animals that avoid direct combat. Therefore, we place it a little further down in the ranking.

5th place: Psiana

Psiana and its Shiny form in Pokémon GO

Eevee’s psychological development is also more defensive. Pokédex entries for it emphasize its loyalty to its trainer and the ability of prophecy to protect itself and its loved ones from harm. Based on air currents, it can not only predict the weather and enemy attacks, but according to “Pokémon Y” it can even read what its opponents are thinking.

Its offensive energy in Pokémon Ultra Moon is fueled by sunlight stored in the sphere on its head. However, this puts him at a disadvantage in night fights. In combat, it relies primarily on its psychological powers.

Overall, Psiana is a very difficult monster to fight – after all, it may know what you’re up to before you do. At the same time, however, it seems to have less destructive power than other Eevee developments. That’s why it’s in the middle of the ranking here.

4th place: Glaziola

Glaziola and its Shiny form in Pokémon GO

In the Pokémon Shield Pokédex, we learn that Glaziola releases powdery snow with cold air, which is why it is extremely popular in ski resorts. It is significantly less popular with enemies who receive its needle-like fur projectiles made of ice, as the entry from “Alpha Sapphire” contrasts.

Overall, frozen fur attacks and the ability to freeze the air around him appear more often in his Pokédex entries. It also has a nasty trick up its sleeve: “Glaziola creates a flurry of diamond dust to enchant prey with its beauty, allowing it to freeze them unnoticed,” says Pokémon Sword. It can also lower its body temperature to -60 degrees Celsius, as we find out in “Pokémon Ultra Sun”.

However, he is not said to have particularly aggressive behavior. Accordingly, purely in terms of potential, we place it higher in the ranking – but the top places go to other Eevee developments.

3rd place: Feelinara

Feelinara is not without danger

Feelinara is the “youngest” of all Eevee developments, appearing in the sixth generation. You shouldn’t be fooled by its appearance, because: “When it comes to battle, it rushes into battle fearlessly, even if its opponent is a Dragon Pokémon many times larger,” says the entry in “Pokémon Ultra Sun”. The entry in Pokémon Moon also emphasizes: “Once it has discovered prey, it waves its band-shaped antennae to distract them. If successful, it will pounce on them.”

In Pokémon Crimson it is even pointed out that it looks elegant, but its attacks “cleverly target weak points”. And last but not least, it also has a special ability: With its ribbons, it can make hostile feelings fade away to end fights, according to “Sword”, “X” and “Crimson”.

In short: Feelinara can act calmly, but when in doubt, attack quite fearlessly and calculatedly. This makes it a wolf in sheep’s clothing and therefore anything but harmless.

2nd place: Blitza

Blitza and his Shiny form in Pokémon GO

Not only does Blitza look energetic, the Pokédex also makes it clear that he shouldn’t be messed with. In “Pokémon Yellow,” it is emphasized that Blitza’s mood “constantly fluctuates between anger and sadness,” generating electricity. This is exactly the mood you should avoid with him, because in Pokémon Platinum, for example, it is made clear that he “fires little balls of his fur” when you disturb him. Since this is made of electrically charged needles, it’s not as cute as it sounds. His nervous nature is also illustrated in “Pokémon Sun,” which makes it difficult for trainers to win his affection.

But it doesn’t stop with the electric fur: According to several Pokédex variants, it draws energy from the atmosphere, which it converts into 10,000 volt bolts of lightning that it fires from its mouth. In “Pokémon Moon”, the Pokédex also mentions that lightning often strikes in its vicinity – and that can cause a lot of damage.

So you definitely don’t want to mess with Blitza. But there is another development that is even more dangerous.

1st place: Flamara

Flamara and his Shiny form in Pokémon GO

Based on the Pokédex, it’s best to stay away from Flamara. Eevee’s fire evolution constantly releases heat to prevent his own body from overheating. However, we’re not talking about a mild fever here: According to “Pokémon Moon”, his body temperature is on average 700 to 800 degrees Celsius, and if he’s excited, that can even rise to 900 degrees Celsius, according to “Ultra Moon”.

This means that just staying anywhere near Flamara could be a problem. It gets even more violent when it attacks: According to various Pokédex entries, a flame sac in Flamara’s body stores the air it breathes, which it then heats to a relaxed 1,700 degrees Celsius and spits out.

To put it into perspective: The melting point of titanium is around 1,660 degrees Celsius. Flamara brings with it intense destructive power, which earns it first place in our ranking.
