Following the early legislative elections in France, parties that obtained 1% of the vote in at least 50 constituencies will receive annual public aid. For 2024, €66.5 million will be shared, with parties receiving around €1.60 per vote obtained in the first round. Some €37,000 will be paid per MP elected in the second round, each year, until the next election.

The National Rally (RN) will receive 15 million euros per year, or 5 million euros more per year than in 2022. A jackpot, however, below the hopes of the extreme right after its disappointment in the second round of elections on Sunday, July 8. But it is a war chest, in particular to prepare for the race for the presidential election in three years.
The presidential camp, for its part, will have lost as much in terms of seats in the National Assembly as in terms of finances: 8 million euros less in aid per year for Ensemble. The previous legislature had made the presidential majority the main beneficiary, with 20 million euros per year.
Left and right, it’s the status quo. If the New Popular Front wins the biggest slice of the pie, with more than 16 million euros per year as in 2022, the four parties of the coalition will have to divide the sum between them again. While La France Insoumise loses several rebels, the Socialist Party could still gather elected representatives under its wing. Negotiations are continuing.
As for the Republicans (LR) party, they are still the least spoiled: the parliamentary group, renamed ” republican right »will receive 4.5 million euros each year. Penalties will be deducted against this party for non-compliance with parity in its ranks. If this is the case for all other political parties, the case of the LR is particularly flagrant.
