How long days can the students go – the National Agency for Education is working out

According to the parents of the children at Åkerboskolan, the children are tired, absent and can no longer cope with their leisure activities or spend time with family or friends.

Several parents believe that it has become too tough for the younger children who are allowed to go almost four hours longer a week compared to previous classes and that they go longer days than at other schools in the municipality.

How long can the students go, and can the principal suddenly decide that they want to extend the students’ school days and have the school any obligations in, for example, serving snacks if they extend the days?

Tove Eriksson, teaching council at the National Agency for Education, finds out.
