Europe has tried to become greener in recent years. Or, in the case of Jan and Judith, to let the strawberries color from green to red more sustainably. With the subsidy of approximately 15,000 euros they were able to purchase a canopy to protect their fruit against the elements. “From strong wind to bright sun, it does not reach the strawberries. Because they are nicely protected, we can also leave them hanging for just a day longer. It makes them sweeter, doesn’t it?
