Hospital thinks it’s “making do”
A hospital without parking spaces? It has been manageable, spokesperson Roeland Franck admits. “We ask our employees not to park in the neighborhood, but somewhere else. At Parkhout, for example. There are loan bicycles that employees can take to complete the last stretch to work.”
Patients and visitors to the hospital are still asked to park near the theater, at the Cityplaza shopping center. A shuttle bus has been running back and forth between that garage and the hospital every day for five months. “We really encourage people to use these alternative places, but we cannot prohibit them from standing in the neighborhood. However, we understand the annoyance of local residents.”
