How difficult is Black Myth Wukong? Actually, not as difficult as everyone would assume. I’ve played games and expansions from Dark Souls to Elden Ring and have compared these difficulty levels to Black Myth Wukong.
My conclusion: The game is very generous to newbies and easier compared to Elden Ring. In battles, enemies and bosses have large time windows that even slow down so you know exactly when to dodge. You also have a large stamina bar and many spells that help you dodge often enough or even freeze enemies.

If you want to know whether dying in Black Myth Wukong has consequences, we can reassure you. As already mentioned in our tips for beginners, you can die or lose as often as you want – your souls and resources will still remain with you.
The game tries to make it clear to fans throughout the journey that exploration and enjoyment are the most important things to consider. You shouldn’t quit the game in a rage because a boss keeps you going for hours. But Black Myth Wukong isn’t child’s play.
You still have to be tactical in your fights and analyze your enemies. If you rush at your opponents like a crazy monkey, you’re sure to die. So you could say that the developers have managed to strike a reasonable balance so that every type of player is happy.
Last but not least, there are also items that can make your fights against the final boss much easier – a kind of built-in easy mode.
Is there a level of difficulty? Not exactly. There are no difficulty levels in the settings. However, in our tests we found that some bosses can change their behavior during battle. Depending on what you do, the bosses may become more difficult, increase their attack speed, or deal more combos.
