Charlotte Baris: Before recording this podcast, I went for a look at the La Loupe archives. This is where we store all the episodes already broadcast, by theme, with specific names and dates. A bit like in a library. So it only took me a few seconds to find the last time we spent 20 minutes on Covid.
It was at the beginning of last January, and we explained to you the scientific progress that the epidemic had made possible since its appearance in the winter of 2019. And since then, we had – perhaps a little like you – put this subject aside. But that was before the end of summer. First there was this wedding where some of the guests tested positive a few days after the weekend of festivities, then an evening with friends where some guests had to cancel, and these few absences of sick colleagues, until to the masks which sometimes resurface in transport and shops.
In short, you understand, we are once again in a wave of Covid. However, after four years of living with the virus, France does not seem to have prepared it sufficiently. Today in La Loupe, we are interested in the reasons for this delay, and we compare with the positions of our neighbors.
Jean-François Delfraissy: “With a new, more serious variant, the mask would quickly reappear”
