All housing must be connected to the public sewerage network or have an individual sewerage system, all-water pit or micro-station, for the treatment of waste water – the septic tank is now prohibited for all new construction.© Graphithèque, Adobe StockWhat is the difference between a septic tank, a septic tank and a micro-station?While a septic tank can only clean up black water, a septic tank will treat all domestic wastewater from a home with a individual sanitation. The regulations require that all of this water (sewage and gray water) be processed at the same time. The installation of a septic tank being prohibited if there is no collective sanitation, it is replaced by that of a septic tank or a micro-station. If the latter does not require a large area to be established, its maintenance must be more regular for the septic tank and an electrical connection is required for its proper functioning.
