Derriks is transgender. She completed her transformation two years ago. “I have never made a problem of that and have always been open about it. I now go through life as a woman.” She will be 70 in a few weeks, but Derriks’ party is largely aimed at young people. “It doesn’t surprise me that we won a seat. We have a great program and great young people on our list.” She looks back on a beautiful election evening, in which the NOS organized a debate in which she participated. “It went well and I was especially surprised about what is involved in such a broadcast.”
