Housing shortage in Arvidsjaur – now the municipality is hunting abandoned houses

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Anne Enoksson is business strategist at Arvidsjaur municipality and she says that there is hard work behind the launch. A job that is now bearing fruit.

– Never before has the demand for housing been so great. I think it is partly due to our new website, but also that we have been more active on social media, she says.

Looking for vacant houses to meet demand

The business strategist goes on to say that the municipality attracted more than 200 new immigrants last year and the trend looks set to continue.

– It is not only Swedes but also Germans who direct their eyes towards Arvidsjaur. Therefore, we are now calling for unoccupied houses so that we can meet the demand, says Karin Jonsson, project manager for “Flytta hit”.
