“House of the Dragon”, the spin-off series that takes over from the “Game of Thrones” phenomenon

House of the Dragon the spin off series that takes over

It’s an event series that arrives on OCS on the night of Sunday to Monday. We don’t know much, but the fans are in the starting blocks. House of the Dragon arrives three years after the end of the eighth season of a cult world series Game Of Thrones, from which it is derived. Expectations are huge.

Two hundred million dollars were invested just for the first ten episodes of House of the Dragon. This new saga which dreams of making as good as Game Of Thrones, of which it is a derivative version, arouses as much hope as concern, because combining worldwide popular success and critical success is a rare alchemy.

Fans will therefore be able to find the powerful dynasty of the Targaryens and their dragons at the head of an empire modeled on Rome. The series will have to meet several challenges: staying faithful to the original universe so as not to lose viewers, renewing the proposal to maintain interest and reflect today’s world.

More places for women in the script and behind the camera

House of the Dragon heard the criticisms made to Game Of Thrones, accused of complacency in describing rape and violence against women. The teams of screenwriters will now be mixed. Four episodes out of 10 are also directed by women.

We also expect a lot from the return to the screenplay of George RR Martin, the author of these formidable heroic fantasy stories which examine the springs of power and human desire as well as the cruelty of imaginary dynasties through the ages.
